Xylem enhances market-leading Flygt 2000 dewatering pump range

Posted: Wednesday 12th October 2016

Xylem, a leading global water technology provider, has launched the new and improved Flygt 2000 drainage pump range - designed to increase durability and performance.

Now even more reliable and robust, Flygt's 2000 series large and mid-sized drainage pumps have been engineered for the most challenging dewatering conditions and applications. The latest additions to the range include a 25 kW pump with two impeller options and the first stainless steel pump in the series.

The Flygt 2190 is the new 25 kW mid-sized submersible dewatering pump - built to handle tough, abrasive-laden liquids. Available with two impeller options: the signature Dura-Spin safeguards against wear by sweeping abrasive particles away from the impeller neck, while the semi-open impeller increases uptime by preventing fibrous solids from obstructing the pump.

Featuring a conical trim sleeve, the impeller-adjustment feature is quick and easy to use restoring clearances to near-original condition and thereby boosting pump performance. The Flygt 2190 also features a robust cable entry point ensuring safe, continuous operation.

The new and improved Flygt 2201 shares the same proven technology as its robust and reliable sibling, the Flygt 2190, in addition to providing customers with a super-high head alternative with its two-stage hydraulics version.

Finally the Flygt 2400, is the first stainless steel-only pump in the series, providing customers in the mining sector with a durable, super-high head, that is suitable for transporting chemically-aggressive mine water. Target ores such as gold, silver and copper are often rich in sulphide which, when exposed to water and air during the mining process, reacts to form sulphuric acid.

With this in mind, the Flygt 2400 stainless steel drainage pump is designed to provide excellent wear-resistance for reliable and efficient dewatering in this demanding environment.

Paul Marlow Dewatering Growth Centre Manager at Xylem, said, "Tough working environments demand robust solutions and the new and improved range is designed to meet this need. Highly efficient and low maintenance, the new and enhanced wear-resistant pumps are engineered to handle the most challenging liquids as well as being suitable for dry running and snoring operations."
