WRC Presentation for Caswick’s ‘Innovative’ alternative to ladders.

Posted: Thursday 9th February 2006

When a company is described as being ‘innovative’, it can eventually struggle to continue creating products that are both new and exciting whilst still being safe and reliable.

This inevitability however, is not applicable to Doncaster based company Caswick Ltd. The Civils’ 2005 exhibition saw the presentation of a certificate to Caswick from the highly respected WRC, giving authorization of their approval to the company’s most recently launched product, the ‘Integrated Step Ladder System’. Founder and Managing Director Chris Cawte stepped up to receive the certificate from the WRC’s Ron Chapman.

This remarkable new system combines all the great qualities of typical Caswick products, such as reliability and excellent value for money whilst providing an imaginative twist on the conventional ladder.

Plastic encapsulated ladder rungs are incorporated into the manholes by the concrete company, who then supply the manholes to site, at which stage the stringer is inserted through the now aligned steps. This process creates an extremely safe, yet surprisingly versatile system, superior to other means of access and egress.

The tread patterns on each rung provide an excellent grip and the stringers also have a profiled surface, guaranteeing a secure and comfortable hand grip, something not traditionally associated with conventional ladders.
