Radiodetection’s StrikeAlertTM feature reduces the risk of accidents

Posted: Thursday 8th December 2011

StrikeAlertTM is a capability developed by Radiodetection which is designed to warn operators of the risks of accidental utility strikes by detecting shallow pipes and cables, and alerting the operator to their presence.

Although work practises state that utilities such as power cables should be buried below a certain depth, one of the more common causes of strikes is shallow power cables. The StrikeAlert feature, an optional feature of Radiodetection’s C.A.T3® range of Cable Avoidance Tools, and a standard feature of the RD7000®+ and RD8000® Precision Locators, alerts the user to the presence of shallow utilities with a clear audio and visual alarm.
