Polypipe introduces new Class 1 power ducting

Posted: Wednesday 27th August 2014

Polypipe, the UK’s leading manufacturer of sustainable drainage, water management and cable protection products, has launched its latest range in cable protection–Ridgiduct Power HV.

Ridgiduct Power HV has been tested and meets the requirements of ENATS 12-24 class 1 specification for electrical cable ducts and offers compliance with British Standard for conduits buried underground (BS EN 61386-24:2010).

The new range of pipes, fittings and accessories are designed specifically for use with High Voltage power, allowing them to operate safely at elevated temperatures.

Suitable for a variety of applications including power stations and substations, wind farms, shopping and town centre refurbishments as well as large industrial developments, the new range offers a robust alternative to PVC duct and provides a higher level of compressive strength.

Emma Nicholls, Marketing Manager at Polypipe, said: “As forward-thinking manufacturers we are continuously expanding our product range to meet with our customers’ requirements, and we’re delighted to add Ridgiduct Power HV to our cable protection offering.

“We have decades of experience in the sector and whilst we currently provide cable protection products for power, Ridgiduct Power HV will meet the challenges of those projects where cables have a much higher voltage.”

Ridgiduct Power HV is available in sizes Ø100mm, Ø125mm and Ø150mm, with a red inner wall and either a red or black outer wall for increased ease of identification.
