On-site sodium hypochlorite generation

Posted: Monday 18th February 2008

Severn Trent Services has introduced a standardised ClorTec® Series MCT on-site sodium hypochlorite generating system to meet disinfection requirements for 5.4 to 16.3 kg/day of chlorine equivalent.

The Series MCT systems are supplied in a factory-tested, skid-mounted configuration and come with standard features including a high-efficiency electrolytic cell or cells, integrated control panel/power supply and brine proportioning pump. Standardisation of the ClorTec MCT ensures easy ordering, and the systemís compact design allows for easy maintenance and system expansion.

On-site sodium hypochlorite generation is a proven, reliable and safe alternative treatment to chlorine gas and bulk sodium hypochlorite disinfection. The use of on-site-generated sodium hypochlorite reduces the formation of some disinfection byproducts and improves water quality. Systems generate disinfectant without the use of dangerous chemicals to eliminate potential hazards associated with transportation and storage.

ClorTec systems are suitable for potable water, wastewater, cooling towers and swimming pool disinfection applications and are ATEX-compliant.
