Hayes Plastics, a family firm that has been in production for well over 50 years, recently launched a new, adjustable, plastic ball float valve for industrial use.

The new valve is readily adjustable with five different cam positions offering five different liquid levels and it is believed to be the only industrial ball float on the market made from robust, corrosion resistant polypropylene as opposed to expensive metals alternatives such as stainless steel, copper or brass. It is suitable for use with chemicals and with industrial water additives and is of particular interest to the automobile and chemical industries, to hospitals, to water & sewerage installations and in H&V and HAC applications.

The new valve is available in sizes to fit half inch, one inch and 1.1/2 inch diameter pipes and with ball floats of 5 inch, 7 inch and 9 inch diameters respectively. These options are increased two fold as each ball valve is supplied with two valves one for standard flow the other for large flow.

The new valve complies with WRAS regulation and protection against backflow of fluids containing contaminants up to fluid category five can be provided by using a type AB air gap in conjunction with a storage cistern. With the flexibility granted by a comparatively small organisation, specifications can easily be adjusted to suit customers’ individual needs and advice on which valve is most suitable is always available. Hayes Plastics is a family business consisting of three generations operating from their plant at Hailsham in East Sussex.
