Alutec, the UK’s leading aluminium rainwater systems supplier, has launched the Tudor downpipe – an attractive addition to its extensive product portfolio that offers the ultimate rainwater system for heritage and period style buildings.

Available in 21 standard colours, including the uniquely textured Heritage Black polyester powder coating, the Tudor downpipe delivers a classic look without the associated maintenance and installation costs.

Bob Randall, Managing Director of Alutec, comments: “Many specifiers, self builders and homeowners are seeking modern alternatives to period building products, either for refurbishment projects or traditionally styled new builds. Aluminium fits their needs perfectly and is being used more and more, as people become increasingly aware of its benefits over all other materials. The Tudor downpipe system perfectly delivers this combination of classic aesthetics and 21st century performance standards, together with longevity and durability.”

Manufactured from marine grade aluminium the Tudor downpipe, like all of Alutec’s aluminium rainwater systems, is so impervious to corrosion that virtually no maintenance is required throughout its exceptionally long life expectancy of 50 years or more.

This is in addition to the fact that aluminium is 65 per cent lighter than cast iron, making it easier to handle on site, and boasts excellent environmental credentials. Aluminium can be recycled again and again without loss of quality – in fact 75 per cent of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today.
