Linear drainage range enhances Wrekin Products’ civils offering

Posted: Wednesday 20th January 2016

Wrekin Products, manufacturer of intelligent products for civil engineering, has completed and enhanced its drainage solution offering to civil engineers with a range of polyester concrete channel linear drainage systems that will bring low-cost installation and easy maintenance to any application.

Linear drainage reduces the need for buried pipes by enabling surface water to be conveyed towards grid-covered drain runs. By connecting the drain points in the channels to a single pipe, the Wrekin Products offering removes the need for a network of buried pipes, simplifying both installation and maintenance.

The hard-wearing channels are manufactured using a contemporary polymer concrete with enhanced functionality compared to concrete or traditional cement, including greater hardness, greater chemical and abrasion resistance and lighter weight.

Wrekin Products offers linear drainage in three systems for, respectively, low-weight pedestrian applications; medium traffic loads including car parks and shopping streets; and heavy or intensive environments where a greater degree of durability is essential, such as highways or airports.

With an emphasis on quality, the Wrekin Products linear drainage range meets EN1433 standards from Class A15 to F900, and is CE marked. Various drain widths and depths are available to suit the specific requirements of each project.

The range is also designed for aesthetics, with an elegant shape and iron gratings that complement the eye-catching external environments in vogue amongst commercial landscapers.

“In response to requests from our customers, we have developed our linear drainage offering to complete and enhance the reputation of Wrekin Products to deliver a high-quality, 360-degree drainage solution package to civil engineers. The product is robust, effective and tailored to save time on installation and maintenance,” comments Simon Turner, Sales Director at Wrekin Products.

“We believe linear drainage provides engineers, specifiers and architects with a simple, cost-effective linear drainage solution whatever the application – and Wrekin Products can provide full technical backup and advice, including our bespoke drainage design software, to assist with the specification process.

“That said, functionality shouldn’t come at the expense of style, and we’re committed to ensuring that our drainage solutions look as good on the surface as they perform underneath,” adds Simon Turner.
