“It’s here! Ultracrete’s Instaband ECO has HAPAS Approval!”

Posted: Wednesday 29th August 2012

After rigorous assessment, Ultracrete’s Instaband ECO thermoplastic skid resistant over-banding tape, has gained HAPAS certification from the BBA.

Instaband ECO is designed for application to asphalt roads to prevent water ingress and progressive fretting, which leads to road structural failure. It can be used in addition to Ultracrete’s BBA/HAPAS Approved Reinstatement System, or applied on its own for the sealing of reinstatement joints and general cracks up to 5mm wide and fretting edges.

Quick and easy to apply, it can be trafficked instantly, thus minimising traffic management. It prolongs the

life of the reinstatement by preventing the ingress of water and offers a high skid resistance value of 60, improving road safety, especially for motorcyclists, cyclists and horses. These features also conform to the requirements of the S11.7 (SRV minimum 55) of the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH).

Ultracrete’s Instaband ECO seals and waterproofs on both asphalt and concrete. The product’s simple application method provides any contractor with a quick and effective way of protecting new and in-situ reinstatements as well as repairing joints and cracks in older wearing courses. If application to concrete is required the area should be primed with Ultracrete Thermoprime, Primer for Thermoplastic Materials.

Installation without HAPAS approved materials can lead to early failure, choose Ultracrete’s BBA/HAPAS approved products for guaranteed performance and durability.
