High Shock Accelerometer Launched

Posted: Wednesday 10th July 2013

As part of their 2013 new product launch program, DJB Instruments UK Ltd has launched a range of high shock accelerometers for use in high amplitude, short duration transient measurement applications such as explosive shock events.

The A/161 and A/162 IEPE accelerometers are available with a top connector or a lightweight integral cable, both options have an integral stud for mounting on the test item. Using a piezo-ceramic sensing element with integrated electrical and mechanical filters the range offers accurate measurements for shock amplitudes up to 20,000g with physical protection up to 50,000g.

Other applications requiring high transient acceleration measurements can include:

· Pile Driver Monitoring

· Simulated Pyroshock Event

· Recoil and Penetration

· Impact Press Monitoring

· Explosive Studies

· Armour Piercing

Neill Ovenden, DJB’s General Manager said ‘The A/16x range has excellent frequency response characteristics, low mass and operates with industry standard IEPE conditioning, this is yet another step forward in DJB’s resurgence in the sensor marketplace and underlines our commitment to offer our customers a complete range of accelerometer solutions.’
