Graf UK maximises stormwater management with EcoBloc Maxx

Posted: Monday 8th June 2015

Water management specialist Graf UK has unveiled EcoBloc Maxx – a revolutionary new stormwater system that delivers the highest level of flexibility, enhanced volume capacity and ultimate ease of maintenance.

EcoBloc Maxx is the brand new addition to Graf UK’s market-leading EcoBloc range of stormwater systems. Completely modular, EcoBloc Maxx is made from expertly designed plastic cells that fit seamlessly together to build a tailor-made stormwater solution. Its innovative design not only allows for complete ease of installation, but provides high storage volume and is conveniently stackable – minimising transport costs, CO2 emissions and storage space in stock.

For straightforward maintenance purposes, EcoBloc Maxx can also be specified to include in-built inspection channels. This provides easy access for Graf UK’s advanced camera technology, which can be used to regularly check the system for any silt or gravel build up. This forms part of Graf UK’s newly launched stormwater maintenance and service package, ensuring optimum performance for the lifetime of the system and full peace of mind for customers.

Comments Graf UK managing director Matthew Rolph: “We’re extremely proud to be introducing EcoBloc Maxx to our stormwater range. Not only does it allow end users to benefit from a fully bespoke system with maximum volume capacity – its unique design means transport, installation and maintenance are as simple and seamless as possible.

“As we experience ever more frequent extreme weather and flooding, the demand for sustainable urban drainage solutions (SuDs) continues to increase rapidly. The government’s Flood and Water Management Act is also bolstering demand and further highlights the importance of ensuring systems are kept well-maintained for long term efficiency. This is something we’ve kept very front of mind with our EcoBloc range and new maintenance service, and means we can ensure systems continue to deliver the best results possible over their lifetime of 50 years or more.”

EcoBloc Maxx can be made to any shape or size and can be positioned as shallow or as deep underground as required, without taking up valuable surface areas. It has a heavy duty lorry bearing capacity of 40 tonnes, and even under extreme loads boasts a storage coefficient of 96%. With a gross volume of 225 litres, EcoBloc Maxx modules hold three times the storage capacity of a typical gravel infiltration ditch, while their compact design requires minimum space and soil excavation.

For stormwater attenuation, EcoBloc Maxx systems can be surrounded by an impermeable membrane, preventing any water from escaping the system unchecked. This allows for ultimate control of water back into the sewage system. For rainwater infiltration purposes, the system can be covered in a permeable geotextile, allowing water to be gradually released back into natural groundwater reserves. EcoBloc Maxx also has a fully-integrated shaft, which can be used as an inlet or filter, for flow control or for inspection purposes.

Graf UK’s EcoBloc Maxx systems are made in Germany in one the most modern production facilities in the world, ensuring the highest levels of quality management. They are custom-designed to suit each specific application and include all the components required for the complete installation. Graf UK provides unrivalled customer support from initial advice, through to design, installation and on-going service and maintenance.
