Gentle Delivering and Metering

Posted: Monday 16th November 2009

ProMinent supplements its pump portfolio by peristaltic pumps for low, medium, and high outputs. They are characterised by their simple functional principle and their compact, robust design. The Heidelberg-based manufacturerpresented the peristaltic pumps of the DULCOflex series for the first time at the ACHEMA show in May this year.

Because of their large output range of 17 to 25,000 l/h and the large number of different hose materials, applications in laboratories as well as in industry can be implemented easily. The peristaltic pumps are self-priming, without gaskets and valves.

While the pumps for low pressures of up to 8 bar are equipped with roller technology, sliding blocks are used for higher pressure ratings of up to 16 bar. The main advantages offered by the peristaltic pumps are their ability to pump product gently and unlike the progressive cavity suffer no adverse affect should the pump dry run. Pasts and solid-containing media as well as viscous, abrasive, corrosive or outgassing media can be delivered. Because of the low load, shear-sensitive products can also be delivered without any problems.

The delivered medium comes only in contact with the hose which can be quickly and easily replaced.

For pumps of the DULCOflex DFCa and DFDa series for high flow rates, a ball-bearing rotor ensures excellent smoothness and a long service life. Glycerine is used as lubricant and additionally improves the service life of the hose. These series can be equipped with a vacuum device on customer request. This device supports the restoration of the hose’s shape. The suction behaviour is thus improved and provides for a steady delivery of viscous media.
