Flow monitoring specialists, Detectronic, are proud to launch their brand new MSFM MCERTS Flow Meter for part-filled pipes and open-channels.

The MSFM MCERTS flow meter is a self-contained battery powered insertion multi-sensor monitor and is certified to deliver guaranteed flow measurement accuracy for sites which require verification by MCERTS inspectors.

Outlines Phill Tuxford, technical support manager for Detectronic: “Our newest flow meter, the MSFM MCERTS, is extremely versatile since it is not reliant on a flume or weir to deliver accurate flow measurement. It can be located almost anywhere in the existing sewer channel or pipe to be monitored and will deliver guaranteed levels of accuracy and the data-quality required to inform and achieve MCERTS compliance – with little or no civils work required.

“Measuring velocity, depth and temperature to determine flowrate, the new MSFM MCERTS multi-sensor Flow Meter is the ideal monitoring system for any business, industry or water company that falls within the Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR).

“It enables companies to understand exactly what is happening with their agreed consented discharge at any given time and permits water companies to precisely monitor Pump Station Emergency overflow and wastewater treatment works final discharge and can also be employed in clean water reservoirs.”

MCERTS is the Monitoring Certification Scheme of the Environment Agencies of England and Wales. Providing the framework for businesses and water companies to meet quality requirements; compliance with MCERTS gives the Environment Agency confidence in the monitoring of emissions and/or discharges into the environment.

MCERTS accredited monitoring equipment, loggers and software are required to ensure reliable and accurate monitoring compliance of a given site. MCERTS also mandates independent audits to ensure best practice is followed and all monitoring equipment and installations are appropriate to the site conditions.

Adds Phill: “Water companies handling wastewater and businesses required to monitor trade effluent will have to comply with MCERTS if it is stated in their consent license. Making sure that you have the right monitor in place for your site is imperative. Detectronic’s MSFM MCERTS system delivers on all levels across a wide range of applications and offers complete peace of mind when it comes to compliance.”

Concludes Dave Walker, commercial director at Detectronic: “Our new MSFM MCERTS Flow Meter further enhances Detectronic’s industry leading product range and closes a distinctive gap in the wastewater flow monitoring market. MCERTS accreditation is a rigorous process for ensuring the accuracy of the instrument so anyone who chooses to use our MSFM MCERTS Flow Meter will be confident that it will provide the most accurate information they require.”
