Fast track drainage renovation from Waterflow

Posted: Wednesday 12th September 2007

An innovative structural lining and renovation system has been introduced by the Waterflow Group plc, aimed at dramatically reducing installation times and environmental impact. Unlike most liners, the Waterflow UV system is cured by ultra-violet light rather than hot water. Not only does this allow much quicker installation and curing, it also completely avoids any risk of pollution from the disposal of water that may be contaminated by styrene.

The glassfibre-reinforced liner has exceptional strength and is suitable for pipes from 150 mm diameter upwards. After installation of the liner within the old drain, a specially designed robotic drilling machine travels along the pipeline to drill perforations to a predetermined pattern and spacing. The entire process, including equipment set-up and removal from site, can be completed in just a few hours.

Waterflow Director Roger Kern commented, “We have introduced this technology to offer a very fast, permanent solution to drainage repairs, even where access is difficult and possession times are short. We can line a 30 metre length in a few hours, including getting equipment on and off the site, compared with less than 5 metres by conventional methods. This speeds up the renewal work and also saves the client a great deal of money.”
