Emerson Introduces Multi-parameter Intelligent Analyser with Three Measurement Inputs

New instrument offers expanded analytical inputs and multiple analogue outputs to serve OEMs, systems integrators and analytical end users.

To meet the need for multiple liquid measurements and lower costs per measurement loop required by industrial OEMs and other analytical customers, Emerson Process Management has announced the Rosemount Analytical Model 1057 three-input intelligent analyser. The new modular instrument combines up to three measurements selectable from pH, ORP and contacting conductivity or resistivity, in any combination. In addition, the Model 1057 analyser includes four 4-20mA current outputs allowing live measurement data along with process temperature to be communicated to SCADA, PLC or DCS host monitoring systems.

The Model 1057 analyser offers further benefits to the OEM and the end user with its ease of use and installation. The internal design is modular and allows signal input boards to be field-replaced, making configuration changes easy. The unit's exclusive Quick Start programming screens appear the first time the analyser is powered. Menu screens for calibration and programming are simple and intuitive with plain language prompts. Live process variables are always conveniently displayed during programming and calibration routines. Information is easily read on the large high-contrast LCD display that shows up to three live measurement readouts in highly visible digits. Up to six additional process variables or diagnostic parameters can also be viewed for a further check of the measurement condition and current outputs.

According to John Wright, vice president of marketing, Emerson Process Management, Rosemount Analytical, Liquid, "While any user can benefit from the flexibility and ease of use of the Model 1057 multi-parameter analyser, we have truly designed it with the system integrators and OEMs needs in mind. The unique combination of sensor inputs and current outputs, as well as the readouts and easy changeover, will let OEMs configure solutions for their customers with optimum efficiency and minimal panel space. We've tried to respond directly to our OEM customers' requests."

With wide versatility for many process applications, the Model 1057 supports inputs from any standard pH, ORP or contacting conductivity sensor. Additionally, the unit is compatible with the new Rosemount Analytical four-electrode PUR-Sense conductivity sensor and SMART pH sensors, and allows inputs from ion-selective electrode (ISE) sensors. The Model 1057 multi-parameter analyser also features complete sensor and analyser diagnostics, four programmable alarm relays, and seven local menu languages including Chinese. The languages can be easily displayed using the menus.
