UK water consumer watchdog reaffirms long-term support relationship with Capita

Posted: Friday 29th May 2015

The Consumer Council for Water (CCWater) has extended its IT support contract with Capita Managed IT Solutions. CCWater has relied on Capita to support its entire IT infrastructure – including equipment, software, networking and cloud storage – for the past nine years. This new contract extends Capita’s contract for another two years, and will see Capita’s team support CCWater through a server virtualisation project, a hardware refresh and a software upgrade.

The organisation acts on behalf of business and household water consumers across England and Wales and provides impartial advice and advocacy for customers of water and sewerage companies. Its IT infrastructure supports 80 staff, board members, and a publicly accessible web portal.

Since 2006, Capita has provided a wide range of IT services to the public body, including the delivery of a new, custom and secure private cloud platform based at the Capita data centre in Belfast.

Bill Woodall, IT Manager for CCWater said: “CCWater works to protect and support consumers – and to do that we need an IT system that is reliable, flexible and customised to suit our needs. Over the past nine years, Capita has delivered this service for us providing value for money time and again”.

Ed Brown, managing director for Capita Managed IT Solutions, said: “Our long relationship with CCWater is a demonstration of Capita’s commitment to understanding the needs of its customers. The scope of the work we have delivered over the years is huge. This extension to our contract is fantastic news and I look forward to working with CCWater in the future.”
