Thames Water Commercial Services joins Water UK

Posted: Tuesday 3rd December 2013

Thames Water Commercial Services (TWCS) has become the first business and non-regulated services arm of an existing Water UK member to join as a separate member.

The move will enable TWCS to directly contribute its commercial and customer-facing experience ideas and viewpoints at an industry level, just as companies are preparing for more competition and choice in the sector, scheduled for 2017.

TWCS’ membership is also a further sign of Water UK continuing to reflect and represent the full diversity of the industry as it evolves, having also recently welcomed Albion Water and Peel Water Networks Limited as members.

Pamela Taylor, Chief Executive, Water UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome TWCS to Water UK as a member. They will add huge value to our work to develop and review policy and instigate fresh ideas as we build an even greater focus on customers and get ready for competition.

“As part of Water UK, TWCS will also benefit from being alongside our other members, who all directly contribute to leading and setting direction for the industry.

“Having a commercial services arm of a water company joining is a huge boost as we continue to bring people together to create better policies for the future of water – an industry that provides world-leading water quality and wastewater services and attracts multi-billion pounds of investment, creating and securing jobs, and supporting business growth, house-building and tourism.”

Piers Clark, Managing Director, TWCS, said: “'I am delighted that TWCS is now part of this important and influential organisation.”
