National repair and distribution company, Taylor & Goodman, has won a four year maintenance contract to provide motors, pumps and gearboxes for Southern Water in the East Sussex area.

As part of a framework agreement with three other companies covering Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Taylor & Goodman will have specific responsibility for East Sussex.

The contract will be serviced mostly from Taylor & Goodman’s Eastbourne branch; however the company also has offices in Birmingham, Bishop’s Stortford, Cleveland, Eastbourne, Fleet, Huddersfield, and Oldham, with its headquarters in Reading.

Taylor & Goodman is well established in the water industry, holding contracts with several of the UKs largest water authorities, namely Wessex Water and Thames Water; which collectively make up 20% of the company’s business.

Pete Ryder, managing director of Taylor & Goodman, commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded the maintenance contract for Southern Water working within the East Sussex area. We are looking forward to working with the team at Southern Water over the next four years and are confident our business relationship will develop further into the future.”

Frank Baker, Southern Water Supplier Agreement Team Leader added: “This agreement will help to further consolidate the reliability our pumping fleet within the East Sussex area by having a ‘one stop shop’ for our operational staff. Once the new business process, which is common to both the supplier and end user, becomes established I am confident that our water and wastewater operations will be better safeguarded, improving our service to customers”.
