Siltbuster Group has appointed Phil Bates to head up the Municipal Sales of its Siltbuster Process Solutions (SPS) business. This is a new role that has been created on the back of five years of considerable business growth in the water and wastewater effluent treatment market.

The company’s team includes five specialists with over 100 years of combined experience in the water industry. SPS, which has worked with most water companies serving England and Wales, provides high quality, cost effective and tailored mobile or permanent water treatment solutions designed to improve waste water treatment processes, reduce related business costs and plan effluent treatment strategies.

A Civil Engineer by trade, Phil Bates brings with him more than 12 years technical experience of working with the water and wastewater sectors. In his most recent role he grew sales within the municipal sector, securing supply arrangements with every UK water company and developing a 30% market share.

On joining SPS, Phil inherits a team already recognised as technical experts in treatment process design. Through his appointment this expertise is now supplemented by his sales and operational experience.

Commenting on his new role, Phil said: “I am extremely excited to join the SPS team. They are technically, very well respected in the industry and have a reputation for forging strong client relationships and creating tailored solutions to specific problems. I look forward to meeting existing and future customers and to further developing this ‘trusted expert consultant’ approach.”

Dr Richard Coulton, CEO of Silbuster Group, said: “Phil joins the team at a very exciting time.

Our solutions based approach, and the flexibility and speed at which we can respond to our customers, have been key to our growth. With AMP 6 fast approaching, water companies are inevitably becoming more and more ‘maintenance’ led. So the need to build cost effective, flexible, speedy and easy to use solutions into asset upgrade and maintenance programmes has never been more pertinent. Phil’s experience will prove invaluable in helping our clients do just that.”
