PSS Hire, the UK and Ireland’s leading utilities and pipeline equipment provider, has worked alongside supplier Scandinavian No-Dig Centre to bring revolutionary new pipe bursting equipment to the UK for the first time.

Following an extensive product innovation and development period spanning 12 months, PSS Hire has invested over £500,000 in new models of pipe-bursting equipment, specifically on the on models T47 and T85 range. The first such models to be delivered into the UK, the pipe bursters are designed for use on existing water mains and are like-for-like replacement for much larger equipment.

Soren Nielsen, CEO of Scandinavian No-Dig Centre said: “In conjunction with PSS Hire, we have designed and produced two new models of pipe bursting equipment which raise the bar for standards in the UK. During the design phase, we specifically had the hire industry in mind and simplicity and durability were two key features which we have successfully achieved.”

The new T47 pipe bursters have already been delivered to PSS Hire and have gone straight out on hire for use on several contracts across the UK, including the five year Framework Agreement in place with Scottish Water.

The T47 Pipe-Burster has 47 tonnes of static pull- back power and is capable of replacing existing pipes from 90mm up to 315mm diameter. Narrow and lightweight in design, it fits between even the closest parallel installations. The T85 model has 85 tonnes static pull back power and can be used to replace pipes up to 450mm diameter.
