Posted: Wednesday 31st August 2011

Following a major review of its offering to the energy market PROjEN PLC, based in Preston Brook, Cheshire has recently launched its BioEnergy division which specialises in the planning, permitting, design and construction of facilities for the production of Biogas, by Anaerobic Digestion, Biomass, Bioethanol and Biodiesel.

PROjEN is a long established Project Management and Engineering business with an award winning reputation for the design and build of process plants which involve hazardous chemicals and gases. Using this experience as a base, the company has recruited a number of the UK's leading BioEnergy experts and engineers who are responsible for the design and delivery of some of the UK's most iconic BioEnergy projects.

The division is led by Shane Pugh in conjunction with leading BioEnergy expert Dr Les Gornall. Dr Gornall has over 30 years' experience of building, operating, designing and commissioning anaerobic digesters and waste water treatment plants. He has become an internationally recognised environmental consultant who has extensive experience in waste and biogas issues across the world.

Although specialists in a range of technologies, PROjEN remain 'Technology agnostic', i.e. not tied in to any specific manufacturer. This flexibility allows the design and build of facilities which exactly meet the client's requirements and allows a more integrated approach to be taken by using a combination of technologies to form 'Energy Centres'.

PROjEN's Managing Director Martin Seabrook comments:

"This is an extremely exciting time for PROjEN. Combined with our market leading Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas experience; the PROjEN BioEnergy team have the skills, knowledge and project execution experience to put PROjEN in an excellent market position. Increasingly our customers comment on our innovative and collaborative approach to client relations setting us apart from our competitors".
