New Partnership Offers UK Businesses One-stop-shop for Utilities

Posted: Monday 9th January 2017

Business Stream and Utilitywise offer an innovative multi-utility deal.

Business customers will soon be able to manage all of their major utilities in one place, thanks to a pioneering new energy and water partnership.

The service has been developed by the specialist water supplier Business Stream, one of the UK's largest non-domestic water suppliers, and Utilitywise, the UK's biggest energy consultancy.

The new offer will enable business customers to secure exclusive deals for their electricity, gas and water, with access to smart online tools allowing them to take control of their utility spend.

The introduction of a one-stop utility offer comes as both organisations prepare for the opening of the English water market in April next year, which will enable around 1.2 million businesses and public bodies in England to choose their water supplier.

The companies aim to lead the market with this new approach to providing utility services, with Business Stream providing water services and Utilitywise offering energy provision.

The offer will be available to customers in Scotland initially, before being introduced in England when the retail water market opens in April 2017.

The package will appeal to a range of SMEs with benefits including:

Saving time through one call to manage all utility purchasing

A simpler, more transparent, flexible offer, helping customers to assess the best deal for them

Saving money, with attractive discounts

Online account management allowing customers to view and manage their account online 24/7

Jo Dow, Chief Executive of Business Stream, said:"This is an innovative, triple utility offer designed to appeal to SME customers, enabling them to save time, money and effort.

"This new partnership makes it easier for customers to buy all their essential utilities in one place and to manage their accounts online at a time and place which suits them. Following our acquisition of the Southern Water customer base, this is further evidence of our intention to shake up the water market and offer new and innovative solutions to business customers across the UK."

Brendan Flattery, CEO of Utilitywise added:"We are delighted to be partnering Business Stream to provide a one-stop utility solution to their customers across Scotland. With over 30,000 customers across the UK, Utilitywise brings significant expertise in helping businesses to get better value from their utility suppliers.

"This partnership will provide Business Stream customers with access to competitive energy prices as well as cutting edge technologies and services to help them reduce utility consumption and save even more money on their electricity, gas and water bills."
