Institute of Water announces judging panel for National Innovation Awards 2014

The Institute of Water has announced the judging panel for its 2014 National Innovation Awards.

The Awards are sponsored by Thames Water and recognise outstanding innovations within the water industry. They are open to companies or individuals working within the water or waste water sector.

The panel for 2014 will comprise:

Cathryn Ross, Chief Executive, Ofwat

Rupert Kruger, Head of Innovation, Thames Water

Jacqueline Atkinson, Inspector, Drinking Water Inspectorate

Sue Petch, Drinking Water Quality Regulator for Scotland

Trevor Bishop, Head of Water Resources, Environment Agency

Now in their fourth year, the National Innovation Awards are part of the commitment the Institute of Water is making to promote forward thinking ideas and facilitate career and personal development in the water sector.

Chris Loughlin, Institute of Water National President and Chief Executive of South West Water, said:

“We are delighted to have assembled a first class judging panel for the 2014 awards. To have some of the key people from the water industry involved reflects the growing reputation of the Institute and the high calibre of award entries we’ve received in previous years.”

Head of Innovation at Thames Water, Rupert Kruger, said:

“We welcome the chance to shine a light on the creative and innovative people who will generate the bright ideas we need to adopt for the future. The water industry is reliant on innovation to take it forward and we fully embrace these awards as a way to recognise emerging talent.”

The National Innovation Awards will be presented at the Institute of Water President’s Dinner at the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel in Bristol on Friday 6 June 2014.

Previous winners of the Institute of Water National Innovation Award include Ferret Technology and Veolia Water.
