Imtech Water, Waste and Energy, leading engineering and construction management contractor and part of Imtech UK and Ireland, is pleased to announce the new appointment of Jeff Alchin as Senior Operations Manager. Reporting to Imtech Water, Waste and Energy’s Operations Director, Richard Hofton, Jeff’s appointment demonstrates the business’ ongoing commitment to developing its operational performance.

A Chartered Civil Engineer, Jeff joins the business with an extensive background in high-profile engineering and water roles within the field of civil construction. After graduating from University Jeff spent five years working as a part of the Channel Tunnel team as an engineer guiding the tunnel’s boring machine. In more recent years, Jeff has been Galliford Try’s Construction Manager in Southern Water throughout AMP 3 and 4. He has also worked on The Environment Agency framework, with a primary focus on the flood defence programme.

His new appointment sees him developing the link between the Imtech site teams and the wider business. Particular emphasis will be placed on improving cost-control as well as project and programme management, maximising the efficiencies that Imtech’s Project Delivery System (PDS) can provide.

Jeff explains: “I am excited about the opportunity to further develop the strong relationships between our site teams and the wider business. My role will be to act as an integral link, enabling issues and opportunities to be communicated and actioned effectively. It is vital that we all have a thorough understanding of the challenges we face to ensure the successful delivery of our projects and frameworks for our clients as we go forward.
