Eric Wright Water Targets National Growth

Posted: Thursday 7th April 2016

Eric Wright Water has outlined an ambitious growth plan following multiple framework appointments, which will create at least 20 new jobs in Scotland and Yorkshire this year.

Part of the Eric Wright Group, Eric Wright Water has evolved from Eric Wright Civil Engineering, specifically to address the needs of the water industry.

The company has offices in Coatbridge and Dumfries in Scotland and officially launched its Normanton office near Wakefield in January, adding to the capabilities of its head office in Preston.

The Yorkshire office secured a £100m framework appointment from Yorkshire Water, which has resulted in 15 individual projects so far, while Eric Wright Water's Scottish team has recently been appointed to Scottish Water's five-year Rural Framework and is currently completing the final year's extension to the water company's Mechanical & Electrical Framework.

The company is now on site at five locations in Yorkshire and is actively involved in flood recovery works, with programmes at two waste water pumping station plants following the floods in December.

In Scotland, the combined teams of the Coatbridge and Dumfries offices are on site at 90 projects and the company is working with both Scottish Water and a number of civil engineering contractors.

Neal Whittle, senior director at Eric Wright Water, said: "Our business model combines specialist water sector expertise that has been brought into the business by acquisition and recruitment, an enviable track record in civil engineering and a heritage in construction that dates back to 1923. That combination gives us enormous potential for growth and we are now actively recruiting for a variety of roles including mechanical and electrical fitters, electricians and fabricators.

"As a specialist in the water sector, we have built our reputation on the high level of skills we can provide and we will continue to prioritise training and recruitment as we grow to ensure we can consistently offer high standards of project delivery across the country."
