Crowder Consulting wins water efficiency contract with Northumbrian Water

Posted: Friday 1st May 2015

The contract aims to help Northumbrian Water customers save water and money by offering a free water audit service including the installation of water saving devices for homes and small businesses.

The 'Every Drop Counts' campaign has already seen great success in Wooler and Glendale, helping the community to save over 35,000 litres of water a day. Having awarded a new contract to Crowder Consulting, 'Every Drop Counts' will be coming to Berwick upon Tweed over the Summer.

Saving water not only saves money on water bills but also helps to save on energy bills. Around 21% of energy bills are a result of heating hot water for showers and other appliances, so customers not currently on a water meter will still see a saving.

The water saving campaign involves offering customers a free water audit for their homes. A dedicated field team will visit interested customers, talk about how they use water and provide helpful advice on how to save. A member of the field team will offer to fit free of charge water saving devices, which help customers to reduce how much water they use. There are a wide range of devices for taps, toilets and showers to suit every customer’s needs. There will also be handy devices for the garden and water butts to collect and store rainwater.

"This is a fantastic opportunity and we at Crowder Consulting are looking forward to working in partnership with Northumbrian Water and the community of Berwick upon Tweed to help customers save water. Every Drop Counts!" says Dilraj Dhillon, Director of Crowder Consulting.

Clair Cooper, Demand Planning Project Manager at Northumbrian Water, said: “We’re committed to helping local communities throughout the North East reduce their bills by making simple changes to the way we use water and energy.

“Changing demands on our water supply mean that it is more important than ever to take care with how we use water and as a company we need to be prepared for the future.

“We’re looking forward to bringing our conservation campaign to Berwick this summer and help to bust those bills and make every drop, and every penny, count.”
