Bluewater Bio Strengthens Market Roll-up & Roll-out Strategy with New Technical Roles

Posted: Friday 17th May 2013

Bluewater Bio International, a leading provider of innovative high-performance, cost-effective water and wastewater treatment technologies, is pleased to announce that Dr. Garry Hoyland, who has served as Technical Director since the Company’s inception, has assumed the new position of Chairman, BwB Technologies. Dr. Hoyland will apply his forty years of process engineering expertise to identify, validate and engage with innovative technology developers – adding them to BwB’s product and partner platform under the Company’s market ‘roll-up’ strategy.

Simultaneously, Dr. Jeremy Biddle has been promoted to Technical Director of Bluewater Bio Limited, driving the ‘roll-out’ of BwB’s rapidly growing product range – including the proprietary HYBACS®, FilterClear™ and GHG-Tox technologies, as well as the low energy UV solution, licensed from Neotech Aqua in March 2013.

Since 2007 Dr. Hoyland has been responsible, initially, for the development of the Company’s proprietary nutrient removal technology, HYBACS® and, more recently, for the validation and enhancement of its high performance, multi-media FilterClear product. In his new role Dr. Hoyland will focus primarily on identifying and appraising potential bolt-on technologies that add value to, and extend, BwB’s customer base. Dr. Hoyland’s previous experience, including senior positions at the prestigious Water Research Centre and Mott MacDonald’s Wastewater and Pollution Control division, marks him as the ideal candidate to fulfill the role.

Dr. Biddle, who joined the Company in 2010 as Senior Process Engineer, replaces Dr. Hoyland as Technical Director of Bluewater Bio Limited. His impressive track record prior to BwB, gained within both the utility and consultancy world, includes the management of major wastewater schemes for the likes of Southern Water, MWH and Black & Veatch.

Daniel Ishag, Founder & CEO of Bluewater Bio International commented: “The value of any company lies primarily in its intangible assets, of which human capital is a significant proportion. Our latest technology addition, Neotech UV, has further accelerated BwB’s two-pronged development strategy – namely the roll-up and licensing of innovative third party technologies, underpinned by an ever-expanding reference base for our own in-house products. As BwB strengthens this mid-market platform, we are fine-tuning our team to ensure that we have the best people in the most appropriate roles to target a growing sector and geographical base.

“I have full confidence that Garry and Jeremy will step up to their respective roles and continue driving the business forward. Congratulations to them both for their promotions, made in recognition of great loyalty and insight during the many challenges of our early years.”
