Aeration expert Suprafilt has landed a £100,000 fabrication contract for Severn Trent Water.

The North West based firm has recently been commissioned by Severn Trent’s framework contractor, MWH Global, to supply and install 304 stainless steel pipework at the Clipstone Water Treatment Works in Nottingham.

The company will be fabricating the 304 stainless steel pipework which will be attached to the Granular Activated Carbon filters at the site.

The project is due to start in October and will take eight weeks, which includes three weeks of installation.

Jonathan Lord, at Suprafilt, says: It’s great to be working with MWH Global and the Clipstone site.

“Not many of our clients know that we also fabricate and install full piping systems. Our engineers are experts in design and fabrication and not only do we manufacture all stainless steel piping on site in Lancashire but we also carryout installation with our own installation teams.”

Paul Wolstencroft, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at MWH Global, Severn Trent’s framework contractor, says: “I have found Suprafilt to have a very professional approach. Not only did they work within the timescales provided, but I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail, especially the quality of the site survey they performed.”

Suprafilt works with some of the UK’s major water companies and leading industrial organisations such as Thames Water and Diageo.

Suprafilt Limited specialises in the design, installation and commissioning of both fixed and lift-out fine-bubble diffused aeration systems for municipal and industrial sewage treatment plants. The company is committed to helping organisations improve their energy efficiencies and works in partnership with Universities, independent research institutions and technical and process experts to remain at the leading edge of technology in this field.

The company employs 16 people and is based on Albion Industrial Estate in Rochdale.
