A Spotlight for Industry Innovation

Posted: Thursday 6th September 2012

The Institute of Water is pleased to announce that Thames Water Limited is to sponsor the 2013 Institute of Water National Innovation Awards.

The Awards, now in their third year were inspired by Professor Cave’s Review of Competition and Innovation in the Water Markets.

Institute of Water’s President, Nick Ellins explains:

"The Institute of Water is directly supporting the aims of the European Commission water directorate and Water Sector Innovation Leadership Group by providing the stage on which to recognise UK water and sewerage innovation.

“The National Innovation Awards gives a much needed spotlight for the many innovative companies to demonstrate their excellence, and is just part of the commitment the Institute of Water is making to promote the right cultural environment and encourage pride in the sector."

Rupert Kruger, Head of Innovation at Thames Water added: “We welcome the chance to shine a light on the creative and innovative people who will generate the bright ideas we need to adopt for the future.

“The water industry is reliant on innovation to take it forward and we fully embrace these awards as a way to recognise emerging talent.”

An industry judging panel will select winners from entrants shortlisted as winners of regional awards. Please visit the Institute of Water website for full details on how to enter any of these awards, details of which will be released over the coming months.

The National Innovation Awards will be presented at the Institute of Water President’s Dinner which will take place at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh on Friday 17 May. To book a place or a table at the President’s Dinner where the National Awards will be presented please contact the Institute of Water on 0191 4220088 or e-mail: events@instituteofwater.org.uk
