XYLEM wins Major Thames Water Framework Agreement

Posted: Friday 6th July 2012

Xylem, formerly ITT Water & Wastewater has won all four lots of a major new Thames Water Framework agreement.

The FA1003 agreement covers a period of three years, with an option for a further two years.

The four lots include standard efficiency 9” membrane disc diffusers in Lot 1; high efficiency modular diffusers (Sanitaire Gold Series) in Lot 2; interconnecting air main pipework and valves in Lot 3 which is optional and replacement membranes and aeration grid spare parts in Lot 4. The equipment will be used across all of Thames Water’s sewage and water treatment sites.

The FA1003 agreement follows on from the previous FA582 Aeration Framework agreement which was also originally awarded to ITT Water & Wastewater, now Xylem.

In addition, the company has recently commenced work on all five of the Thames Tideway improvement projects. The five major AMP 5 extensions involve sewage treatment works at Beckton Sewage Treatment Works near Barking; Crossness Sewage Treatment Works near Esher; Mogden Sewage Treatment Works in South West London; Longreach sewage treatment works near Dartford and Riverside Sewage Treatment Works near Rainham.

Duncan Leathley, General Manager – Treatment, commented: “The new AMP5 agreement reinforces the already strong working relationship between Xylem and Thames Water. We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue our supply of state-of-the-art sewage and water treatment technology to a partner that has ambitious programmes for the expansion and refurbishment of its assets in the Thames Tideway.”

He continued: “Our work with Thames Water demonstrates our capabilities in being able to provide high efficiency technologies that produce long-term, sustainable, low carbon and low energy solutions for the water industry along with a comprehensive aftermarket package.”

Xylem’s fully qualified Projects team can operate as principal contractor, as well as sub-contractor to other entities. Their design capabilities span across Xylem’s full product portfolio from pumping solutions through to full treatment works, which can involve aeration and mixing products through to filtration, UV or Ozone disinfection systems.
