ast-growing restaurant chain Nando's has called on Waterscan to help it prepare to tender for a new countrywide water supplier in early 2018.

The leading independent water consultancy has been briefed to advise the company on the English water market, provide a data set for the tender process and conduct margin analysis to assist in the bid evaluation.

Established thirty years ago in South Africa, Nando's brought its legendary Peri-Peri chicken and its distinctive looking restaurants to the UK in 1992. Named the Sunday Times' Best Big Company to Work For in 2010, it now has 397 outlets across England with significant growth plans on the back of its success to date.

Cameron Holder, Head of Indirect Procurement, at Nando's, said: "We have always taken our responsibilities as a business very seriously. Having firmly embedded waste reduction principles and procurement processes in our business, we now turn our attention to water. We are excited by the possibilities that the open market offers us and trust Waterscan's considerable expertise and data insight to guide us toward optimising water consumption and cost savings throughout our English restaurant portfolio."

Waterscan's Account Director, James Goodall, said: "We are delighted to be working with this forward-thinking and responsible hospitality business. Our first task is to thoroughly review Nando's billing data to better understand current usage so that we can help them drive down consumption and costs. The resulting data analysis will assist the Nando's procurement team to make a well-informed decision about its choice of water supplier and ultimately achieve their best possible tender outcome."
