Conder Environmental Solution’s SAF 100 packaged sewage treatment plant, with enhanced desludging technology as standard, has been installed in the Loch Lomand National Park as part of a significant scheme to provide the luxury holiday complex with a treatment facility that will serve the population of a cluster of self-catering holiday homes.

The scheme has provided 18 holiday lodges in the Argyll Forest Park near Dunoon with a completely below ground packaged sewage system and granular surround which has left no impact on the scenic beauty of the national park area.

Conder’s range of SAF products provide optimum performance through submerged aerated filters that combine energy efficient blowers with an integral flow management system. The SAF range is also supplied as standard with a compact unitank design, which, with no below ground moving parts, eliminates maintenance and service costs and significantly increases product lifespan.

Manufactured from Conder’s UK premises in Peterlee, County Durham – Europe’s largest automated GRP manufacturing plant –the SAF packaged sewage treatment system is designed in accordance with the British Water Code of Practice and is type tested in accordance with BSEN standards.

Speaking about the installation, Ian Murray, Technical Manager at Conder Environmental Solutions said: “Because of the nature of this installation it was very important that we created a solution that worked and blended with the environment we were installing in. Conder prides itself on designing and building bespoke sewage treatment plants that fit with the requirements of our clients and that can be adapted to the environments we’re installing in.

“Following a number of on-site meetings with the client we were able to establish the unit that would best meet not only the requirements of the site but also those set out as prerequisites by SEPA. “

Along with the benefits of complete underground installation Conder’s range of SAF products also reduce overall set up costs with a system that is easy to install, include deeper inverters and combine higher rate nitrification options.

Conder Environmental Solutions is part of the EPS group and has worked in the water and waste water management industry for over 40 years.
