Huber Technology Disc Thickener at Moreton in Marsh STW

The RoS2s BG1 disc thickener was installed at Moreton in Marsh STW following successful trials of the unit on several Thames Water sites and followed the first permanent disc thickener installation at Burghfield STW.

The unit was delivered through the contractor Black & Veatch and was ordered in April 2007 with commissioning taking place later on in the year.

The thickener is designed for a flow rate of 10 m3/hr of surplus activated sludge at around 0.5 1.0% DS thickening it to 5%. The unit is designed to operate around 8hrs per day with minimal operator attendance.
