Heat exchangers for Severn trent

HRS Heat Exchangers Ltd has recently supplied two DTI Corrugated tube in tube exchangers to Severn Trent Water for a sewage treatment works in Leicestershire.

The two units supplied complete the Severn Trent heat exchanger replacement programme for this sewage treatment site which is one of the largest in the East Midlands area of the UK.

HRS has supplied a total of four DTI heat exchangers to this sewage treatment works to replace the sites existing high maintenance and problematic “spiral” exchangers.

The new DTI units were supplied in varying layouts to suit the sites unusually tight dimensional restrictions and complex existing pipework layout. The DTIs were supplied in 168/129 sizing with a duty of around 540 kW each for digester sludge heating. The four DTI units were supplied as one in a Vertical Format, two in a Zig-Zag format and one in a more standard framed layout.
