Drainage specialist Steve Caunce invests in world-first digital evidence platform to process 30,000 audits

Posted: Tuesday 14th May 2019

Environmental and industrial drainage specialist Steve Caunce has invested in a new world-first secure digital evidence collection platform, enabling it to complete more than 30,000 audits faster and more accurately and resulting in a number of new client wins.

The sewer and drainage specialist introduced eviFile to replace its manual approach to comprehensive site audits, both enhancing efficiencies and improving accuracy.

eviFile works via standard tablets and smartphones, enabling field operatives to use their device’s cameras and GPS capabilities to record inspection information. Every use is securely captured with information on time, date, geographical location, user and device orientation.

The platform was tailored to Steve Caunce’s exact requirements and has enabled the business to improve tendering, quoting, invoicing and reporting, allowing for the quick conveyance of highly accurate information to customers and repair teams.

Steve Caunce commissioned eviFile’s Standard edition, which is specifically designed for SMEs. The software is also available in an easily deployed Proof edition and an advanced Enterprise edition for large, complex organisations.

Andy White, general manager at Steve Caunce, said: “Many businesses in our industry struggle to accurately report on progress, finished work and repairs, which can be damaging to client relationships and ultimately lead to delayed payments and even disputes. We wanted to invest in a solution that would not only ensure accuracy of data capture and reporting, but would give our customers the transparency required to have confidence in our services.

“We were extremely impressed with eviFile’s accuracy and ability to gather richer data, faster and more cost efficiently. The best-in-class reporting, combined with the platform’s transparency, has significantly streamlined our processes and has already resulted in a number of new business wins for us.”

eviFile is a software as a service (SaaS) platform believed to be the first in the world developed to adhere to the principles set out by the Home Office in The Association of Chief Police Officers’ (ACPO) digital evidence guidelines.

The Steve Caunce team is able to access eviFile by mobile phone whilst on location, allowing them to transfer highly accurate information in real-time to the service desk and clients, ensuring everyone is kept up to date on the progress of the job and the works required.

Its eviTrack functionality provides visual evidence that a site has been fully audited, giving customers absolute proof of work and strengthening their confidence in services.

Managing director of Leeds-based eviFile, Luke Allen, added: “We understand the challenges that come with field inspections and audits, and appreciate that transparency is key to building customer confidence. eviFile has the ability to meet and exceed the levels of assurance demanded by clients, as well as streamline operations.

“We were able to provide Steve Caunce with a robust approach to site data capture and management, generating tamper-proof digital evidence in real-time. We are delighted to hear that the platform’s success has led to several new business wins for them.”
