Dignity secures water savings deal with Business Stream

Posted: Thursday 27th February 2020

One of the UK’s largest providers of funeral services has signed up to a new two-year water and waste water contract worth £1.2 million.

Dignity, which owns over 850 funeral locations and operates 46 crematoria in the UK, has agreed the new contract with Edinburgh-based water retailer, Business Stream.

The agreement will see Dignity consolidate all of its water and waste water billing with Business Stream, helping towards delivering cost savings and operational efficiencies. The funeral service provider will also benefit from the water expert’s dedicated account management service and accurate meter reading performance.

The deal represents a significant win-back for Business Stream, who previously worked with Dignity in Scotland until April 2017 when the English retail water market opened.

Raja Khan, Service Contracts Manager at Dignity, said: “We need a water partner that can deliver accurate billing, suggest operational efficiencies and support us to achieve our sustainability goals, so that we can focus on our core business of client services and care for the bereaved. Business Stream have demonstrated that they have the ability to deliver, with a committed team filled to the brim with expertise, and we are delighted to be working with them again.”

Jo Dow, Chief Executive of Business Stream, said: “It’s fantastic to be working with Dignity across their entire UK estate after working closely with them in Scotland for a number of years. Our aim is to provide expert support to our customers with a key focus on helping them to use less water. By working in partnership with Dignity, we will help them to identify water and waste water efficiencies which will deliver environmental benefits and a sustainable reduction in their water charges.” Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
