Delivering Bespoke Design and Substance

Posted: Wednesday 21st August 2013

Bespoke, super-efficient Conder sludge storage tanks have been installed to support the on-going development of the Northumbrian Water Bran Sands Waste Water Treatment facility in Middlesbrough.

The Conder units were supplied as part of a turn key project, delivered by JN Bentley, and supplied by Conderís UK manufacturing facility based in the North East of England.

The Waste Water Treatment at Brans Sands, Teesside provides effluent treatment for major multi-national companies in the area and since its establishment in 1995 has won four environmental awards.

To support in the plantís continued development, Conder designed three bespoke above ground CVT and CHT process storage tanks. These ranged in capacity from a 6,000 litre horizontal centrate to a 12,000 litre vertical raw sludge tank and only this month Conder completed the installation of a 40,000 litre process water storage tank.

Conder is a long-established provider of water and wastewater treatment solutions and is part of the Irish based EPS Group. The company has worked in partnership with JN Bentley for several years and having done so, the company had no reservations about specifying Conderís CHT2.5, 40,000 litre process water storage tanks for the Brans Sands project.

JN Bently accepted Conderís CHT2.5, 40,000 litre tank following a full site inspection by the company along with detailed proposals and drawings that ensured Conderís final product fitted the existing plant and its application.

Following installation Conderís National Sales Manager, John Carter, said: ďThis is a great example of partnering and co-operation in the Water PLC environment. Since the installation we have received a fantastic response regarding the quality of product and the level of service we delivered on this project.Ē

As with all products in the Conder storage tank range, the profile is extremely durable and easy to install with a life expectancy of some 25 to 50 years. A chemical resistant liner ensures a hard wearing, durable finish, which reduces maintenance and resists corrosion.

JN Bentley sent a thank you email on completion of the contract and concluded: ďMost storage tanks do their job as expected, but this is better as it performs extremely well and requires no/little maintenance. Itís also easy to install and the bespoke aspect of the product means it will also work to the application it is designed for. We will definitely use it again on future projects.Ē
