The NHBC recently specified Conder Solutions to supply a new sewage treatment plant that has replaced failing works on an established Cheshire private housing scheme.

The scheme at Runshaw Hall in Chorley is made up of 41 flats and apartments and houses up to 114 people. Failing works meant that a quick and effective solution had to be reached which would also meet a tight EA effluent discharge standard. This included a 5mg/ltr ammoniacal nitrogen standard.

The Conder units were supplied as part of the overall work programme delivered by Vendcare Technical Building Services.

To support in the delivery of the scheme, the Conder Techflo SAF125N5 two tank semi modular system was selected and installed by Conder Installation partner, MPS. The system offers a quality, reliable and cost effective solution and importantly met the EA tight standards required of the scheme.

Through early involvement with Conder and their local installation partner, Vendcare were able to quickly and effectively deal with the failing works and install a proven process to meet the tight EA effluent discharge standards on this scheme.

Vendcare were reassured by Conder’s history in this sector and especially by their ability to specify a semi modular system that needed to meet what was essentially a very challenging brief. It was noted that Conder had delivered a quality product to a tight timescale and have given the client the reassurance of a hard wearing system with a long life expectancy.

As with all products in the SAF range, Conder has utilised proven submerged aerated filter technology for optimum performance and reliability. Using cost effective, energy efficient and robust blowers for aeration, the range includes an integral flow management system and is designed for completely below ground use.

Conder’s National Sales Manager, John Carter, said: “This is a great example of Conder’s ability to deliver waste management solutions under a very tight brief and within some very tight parameters. And for me this is where Conder comes into its own, delivering not just off the shelf solutions, but making sure that the products we recommend and install are customised to fit the required application.”
