Biwater Leisure has just completed the refurbishment of the Harmanís Water Leisure Centre swimming pool in Bracknell, United Kingdom. The work significantly improves the quality of the pool facilities and was completed on time after 10 weeks of intense work. The pool reopened its doors on 17 September 2010 and the Bracknell community is now able to enjoy new and improved pool facilities.

Biwater has been on a tight timetable to complete the work for the start of the new school year as the pool is used each week during term time by the 700 pupils at the adjacent Harmanís Water Junior School as well as other schools in Bracknell.

Biwaterís contract involved refurbishing the pool by shot blasting the existing pool to remove cracked concrete and flaking paint and then relining it with an epoxy lining. Poly Advisory Services was contracted for the specialist lining works. Biwater also removed all of the poolís water treatment plant and replaced it with completely new equipment, increasing the pool turnover rate and providing automated chemical dosing. New pool inlets and outlets were also installed to improve water circulation.

The client was Bracknell Forest Council and the pool operators are Results Health Clubs. The consultant was ISRM.
