Alutec adds the finishing touch to prestige homes

Posted: Monday 8th December 2008

When Whittaker Homes wanted to create a development that would set it apart from the mainstream it selected Alutec Classic rainwater systems from Marley Plumbing and Drainage. The high quality powder coated aluminium guttering and downpipes ensure a long maintenance free life and their traditional styling reflects the timeless quality of the exterior detailing.

The development, at Willow Drive in North Muskam, near Newark, Nottinghamshire, is notable for its extremely high level of interior and exterior finish. The eight red brick properties have natural clay pantile roofs and detailing that includes toothed eaves and banded brickwork, with stone features to the windows and gables.

These are complemented by the traditional ogee profile of the Alutec Classic rainwater guttering and square downpipes. To complete the effect the gutters and downpipe are finished in Heritage Black, a high quality textured polyester powder coating that emulates the appearance of cast iron.

Manufactured from 100% recyclable, high quality aluminium, Alutec is lighter than cast iron and tougher than zinc. Available in modern and traditional styles in a wide range of colours, its durable powder coating can give it a virtually maintenance-free 40 year service life.

The design of the Alutec snap fit ‘Aligator’ joint makes installation quick and straightforward. Due to innovative production techniques, Marley can offer Classic at a reasonable price without compromising on quality.

General Manager of Whittaker Homes, Lee Julian, commented. “We really wanted to set our stall as a high quality developer with these properties and didn’t want to cut any corners. I wanted to find an alternative to plastic gutters and when I saw the Alutec product I really liked the look of it. The fact that it requires no maintenance is obviously a selling point for us, as are its environmental credentials.”
