Saint-Gobain PAM UK secures two further contracts with Severn Trent

Iron technology leader Saint-Gobain PAM UK has secured two major orders from Severn Trent worth a combined £850,000 for projects in the Midlands.

Through a £600,000 deal, the company is supplying 7.5 km of its acclaimed DN 450mm PAM Natural pipe - 1,363 pipes in all - to contractor Carillion for Severn Trentís project at Enderby in Leicestershire, where it is creating a new water main for the village as part of its Isolated Communities Scheme.

Meanwhile, 834 of the same specification pipes, measuring 4.8km, are being supplied to a project a Stoke St Milborough, near Ludlow in Shropshire. Here, Severn Trent is enhancing service provision as part of its Hot Weather Action Plan, which addresses increases in population during summer months due to tourism. The main contractor for the project is Balfour Beatty.

For both projects, ductile iron pipes were chosen for their ease of installation and ability to cope with operating pressures of up to 25 bar.
