Develop Training is building on its reputation within the water industry with the appointment of a new Operations Manager to the team.

Tim Walmsley joins from Severn Trent Water, where he spent more than 20 years working in operational and engineering roles, amassing a huge amount of hands on experience and knowledge in the process.

His move to Develop Training takes him in a new direction, but one that he says is pleasingly familiar to him: “Although learning and development is a new field for me, I am actually already incredibly familiar with the work that Develop does. I have been booked onto several Develop training courses, along with past colleagues through my previous employer, which can only help me provide a different perspective on what we offer to our customers.

“I am very much looking forward to working on the ‘other side of the fence’ so to speak and using this knowledge to make a difference within the business.”

During his time at Severn Trent Water, Tim managed teams in the Operational field and in their Operational Contact Centre. This has given him a valuable insight into the management and operational structure of large utilities organisations - insight that will now help him to expand Develop Training’s offering in this marketplace.

As well as his involvement in developing new products to meet customer needs, Tim will play a pivotal role in growing the Water Division. He said, “We have numerous longstanding customers who use Develop to provide the highest standard in water-related training. Going forward my focus will be to work with these valuable clients whilst identifying new opportunities and building on these.”
