Posted: Monday 15th October 2007

Balfour Beatty Utilities was announced the winner of the Innovation category at the South West Water Supplier Awards, held on the 4th October 2007.

The award, designed to recognise a supplier who has demonstrated collaborative working to generate new ways of working, was presented at a ceremony held at Woodbury Park in Exeter.

Balfour Beatty Utilities won the award for the first ever directional drilling of ductile iron, carried out during August on the A38, in collaboration with Saint – Gobain, the company who provided the pipes and fittings.

Balfour Beatty Utilities’ Operations Director, Colin Kelly said: “This is a fantastic achievement. Innovation is at the heart of our company and we are always working to use it to meet the ever growing aspirations of our client. It is brilliant to have the combined efforts of our design and operational teams, and our suppliers recognised in this way.”
